A New Mexico day-tripper was pulled out of the Niagara River gorge a Devil’s Hole State Park, afterwards he fell off a aisle Wednesday afternoon.
Officers from the New York State Park Police and volunteers from the Upper Mountain Fire Company conducted the accomplishment operation.
Park Police said the 66-year-old man was walking a aisle in the gorge, cutting sandals, and slipped and absent his balance.
“He went off the aisle and approved to grab a annex and missed,” Park Police Lt, Patrick Moriarty said. “He fell and hit his head.”
Moriarty said the man was advised for his arch abrasion and again agitated out of the gorge. He was after taken to the Erie County Medical Center in Buffalo by Mercy Flight for added analysis and observation.
The arch abrasion was declared as “not serious.”
“With the rain we’ve had (the gorge trails) are actual slippery,” Moriarty said. “And acutely the cossack (sandals) was a bad choice.”
